Women Exporters’ Conference: Strengthening Women-Led Businesses for Resilience, Recovery and Inclusive Economic Growth

The Nigeria Export Promotion Council brought women-led businesses from across the country together to showcase their work and push toward one goal: export readiness.

The Women Exporters’ Conference, organized by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) in Abuja, was a game-changer for women exporters. The theme, “Strengthening Women-Led Businesses for Resilience, Recovery and Inclusive Economic Growth,” was timely. Many women-led businesses seeking a platform to showcase what they build were in the room.

Dignitaries at the conference included NEPC Executive Director/CEO Dr Nonye Ayeni, NiDCOM Executive Director/CEO Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, representatives of the World Trade Organization and ITC SheTrades, and Senior Adviser to the President on Export Expansion Aliyu Bunu Sheriff, among others.

The discussions kept circling back to the same truth: Nigeria’s agrifood sector holds enormous export potential to regional and international markets.

The AfCFTA is open. The SheTrades platform is active. NEPC is prioritizing women exporters. The opportunity is here.
